What Are The 9 Symbols Of The Holy Spirit?

The symbols or characteristics used to distinguish the Holyspirit are:

1. Dove

Luk 3:22  And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee, I am well pleased.

Joh 1:32  And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

Joh 1:33  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me,

Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

The Dove represents the gentleness, harmless and comforting power of the Holyspirit in your life

2. Fire As A Symbol Of The Holyspirit

 

Joh 2:17  And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of your house hath eaten me up.

Act 2:3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Fire means the zeal and refining power of in your life

3. Water

John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Joh 7:38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Joh 7:39  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Water represents the life-giving power of God

4. Oil

The Spirit of the Lord has anointed me to:

Preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Heb 1:9  Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

To be anointed means to be Chosen and Empowered

Jesus Christ Acknowledged that He was anointed by the HolySpirit

The is the consecration and anointing power of God

5. Wind

John 3:8  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst does not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Act 2:2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Wind represents the resurrection  power of God

6. Seal

Eph 4:30  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption

2Co 1:22  Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

This is the redemptive and keeping power

7. Dew

Hosea 14:5  I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon

Dew Represents the refreshing and invigorating power of God

8. Gift

Act 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 2:39  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The joyful, gracious, and liberating power of God that manifests in your life when the Holyspirit dwells in you

9. Rain

Zec 10:1  Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

Jas 5:7  Be patient, therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receives the early and latter rain.

Life-giving and quickening power
