Kingdom Restitution: How To Restore What Was Lost for His Glory

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” – Joel 2:25a (ESV)

In your journey of faith, you may encounter seasons of loss, brokenness, and missed opportunities. Life’s challenges and circumstances can leave you feeling depleted, hopeless, and longing for restoration.

But the good news is that you serve a God who specializes in restoration—a God who can turn your losses into gains and redeem what was once broken.

Joel 2:25 reminds us of God’s promise to restore what the locusts have eaten.

The imagery of swarming locusts symbolizes the destructive forces that have ravaged our lives—whether they be past mistakes, unfulfilled dreams, broken relationships, or lost opportunities.

Yet, in His faithfulness, God assures us that He is able to bring restoration, to make all things new.

God’s restoration is not merely about fixing what was broken. It goes beyond repairing the damages of the past.

His restoration is a divine act of grace that brings forth something even more beautiful and fruitful than what was lost.

It is an opportunity for you to experience the abundance of His Kingdom and to see His glory revealed through your life.

Restitution begins with surrendering our brokenness and losses to God.

You must acknowledge your need for His healing touch and invite Him into the areas of your lives that need restoration.

It is an act of humility and trust, recognizing that God’s ways are higher than your ways and that He can bring beauty from ashes.

As you surrender to God’s restoration, you must also actively participate in the process.

This may involve seeking forgiveness and extending forgiveness to others. It may mean taking steps of faith and obedience in areas where you have held back.

It could involve seeking godly counsel, engaging in inner healing, or investing in personal growth.

It is a journey of faith, where you partner with God as He works in and through you.

God’s restoration is not limited to individual lives.

It extends to families, communities, and even nations.

As you experience His restoration, you become agents of restoration in the world around you.

You have the privilege of bringing His healing touch to broken relationships, reconciling differences, and standing up for justice and righteousness.

I encourage you to open your heart to God’s restoration. Surrender to Him your losses, your brokenness, and your unfulfilled dreams.

Trust that He is able to restore what was lost and bring forth something even greater.

Seek His guidance and actively participate in the restoration process.

And as you experience His restorative work in your life, be a catalyst for His Kingdom restoration in the lives of others.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your promise of restoration.

I surrender to You the areas of my life that need Your healing touch.

I trust that You are able to turn my losses into gains and redeem what was once broken. Guide me and lead me on this journey of restoration.

Help me to actively participate in Your work, both in my own life and in the lives of others.

May Your Kingdom restoration be evident in all that I do, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflect on areas in your life that are in need of restoration.

Take a moment to surrender them to God and invite His healing touch.

Ask Him to guide you and show you the steps you can take to actively participate in the restoration process.

Trust that He is faithful to restore what was lost and to bring forth His glory through your life.
